Greetings again from the mountains of western North Carolina. It's a little overcast this morning. I miss the beauty of sunrise over the little lake here against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but that's okay. It's even beautiful when it's cloudy and gray.
I've been reading through Amos yesterday and today. Tough stuff to read. I'm struck by the question God asks his people (Judah and Israel), "Can two walk together who are not headed in the same direction?"
As for other reading on this trip, I've brought along a copy of a novel entitled The Shack. A number of my friends have read it and have recommended I read it - everything from, "It was great" to "It's heretical". Heretical? Come on. It's a fictional work. Still, you know that kind of talk peaks my interest. So, I dove in last night just as I was nodding off. Managed to read the into, and get started into chapter one. Good writing style and voice is the only comment I have so far.
Did you read The Shack? What did you think? (Don't give anything away... as I am just getting started.)

How cool to see you have The Shack on your blog today. Jarvis was just telling Jimmy about that book the other day. Let me know how you like it. Just might have to make a run to B&N to get it! Hope you are getting some rest and relaxation!

Hey Erica, thanks for the comment. Jarvis recommending The Shack? Perfect. I love that guy. Well, I'm a few chapters in. It was actually a little disturbing because the story really begins with a child being kidnapped in a campground. And, yesterday evening here (in the campground) a panic stricken dad was looking for his missing child. The child turned up. But, creepy that I'm reading about a campground abduction and a child goes missing in the campground. I'll let you know what I think as I go on. See ya soon.
